This wiki was created by the Librarians at Sunnydale High School (Kate Fais, Michael Gutleber, Michelle Raczkowski) for the extracurricular book club: The Readers Among Us. This project was created with the intention of encouraging recreational reading in the upper grades. With the hectic lifestyle of 21st century teens, an online, interactive book club will serve this purpose. We need to meet them where they are: in cyberspace. The book club members will be able to listen to book talks, listen to or read discussion questions, read and write book reviews, recommend books, and read recommendations by fellow members. The wiki also provides genre descriptions, information about the Printz, Newbery, Coretta Scott King and National Book Awards, and booklists published by YALSA. The books to be read will be selected by the Librarians, but members will vote on the books' genre.

Each book has its own page with a cover image of the book. A poll created by Kate is used to determine the genre of the next book to be read.
